MPOWR offers basketball training to individuals and teams. This includes home school organizations, amateur teams, or school districts. MPOWR serves the community by providing mentorship to our athletes and sponsoring qualifying college athletes through the Tavarus Blanchard Foundation. Athletes don't just train, then they're on their way. We invest in our athletes' lives by communicating with them on a regular basis, supporting them at games, and connecting them to valuable resources. We join athletes' basketball journey, helping every step of the way.

We request that all athletes come to training with a clear & open mind. Our trainer, Tavarus, teaches new ways to do things and explains why. This builds athletes' basketball IQ & allows them to self correct. Tavarus pushes his athletes to train with intent & purpose. He constantly reminds his athletes that basketball player development is a journey, so they don't get hung up on their errors. The motivation is progress, not perfection!

You can expect Tavarus to be honest, accountable, passionate, direct, thought provoking, & fully submerged in every angle of basketball training. Our trainer, Tavarus, will push you from fight to finish. He teaches in-depth to establish foundational principles. His basketball training is technical, focusing on the nuances of the game, skill complexity, and mastery. The goal is the build efficient players.

MPOWR Training is a family owned and operated brand. Meet Shayla & Tavarus Blanchard!

Our founder and trainer, Tavarus Blanchard, began playing basketball and other sports at the age of 5. His goal and passion is to empower the lives of athletes. Tavarus develops athletes while mentoring and building lasting relationships. Since the 8th grade Tavarus had basketball trainers who were very knowledgeable and pushed him beyond his potential. Playing in high school & with AAU select teams, Tavarus was given the opportunity to travel the world and compete against some of the top rated players in the country. During high school Tavarus was awarded "Mr. Basketball of Arkansas," Gatorade State Player of the Year, & was a McDonald’s All-American nominee. In the 2002 Class 5A state championship, Tavarus won & was honored as MVP. AAU, along with his high school accolades, gave him the collegiate exposure he needed.

Texas State University awarded Tavarus a full athletic scholarship. He served as a team captain for two years. MPOWR was created, because Tavarus wants to share the gift of training he received that contributed so much to his successful career. As a trainer, Tavarus focuses on innovative, game related training methods that build competitive, versatile players. As a result, his clients excelled to the collegiate and professional level. MPOWR works with athletes throughout Texas and Arkansas, including players overseas, in the G-League, and college.
